Common Deployment Scenarios

Gigamon is primarily deployed in the Data Center. Its role is to ensure that it inspects incoming traffic and forwards to the right tools and security appliances for analysis. Very few customers use Gigamon high availability feature. In the event of a failure, Gigamon removes itself from the data path so traffic would not be directed to the tools and security appliances. In the worst, there was security exposure for the duration Gigamon was down. 

GigaSmart is its flagship feature. Many customers use GigaSmart to make intelligent decision to redirect traffic.
